The Album is comprised of the tracks that were written for contemporary dance shows designed by company Sidra Bell Dance New York in 2018. This was a second collaboration between Alexey and Sidra after successful premiere of shows LOSTLANGUAGE that were created in 2016. While LOSTLANGUAGE score was more abstract, this time Sidra asked if the music could have had more "drive" in it.

Thus, pretty much every track on FRICTION has big rhythmical part in it, while still trying not to fall under any typical genre lock.
While some compositions tend to stick to one rhythmical idea throughout their duration (Fields, Walker, Scopolamine) there are several successful examples where the form constantly changes, like in "I Venture to See" that introduces combination of two tempos and classical choir, "Down Medusa's Throat" with short burst of rhythm slowly developing to massive drill'n'bass drop in the middle, and "Mind Conditioning" that sounds like 6 different compositions altogether.

"Mind Conditioning" was also the track that got Kronodigger noticed by famous trio NOISIA, which led to frequent inclusion of Alexey's music in Noisia Radio podcasts and a release on their label DIVISION.
Whole album is another trip into the depths of human psyche that is fueled by subjects of alienation, sexual tension, self-criticism and constant search and how all of it gets transformed into musical output.
